I graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with a Master of occupational therapy degree, and I have a post-professional doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University.
I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings such as adult/pediatric neurodevelopmental rehab, acute care, SNF, orthopedics, home health, and early childhood intervention. I have enjoyed working in all the different settings and working with all the various age ranges, but I have a passion for pediatrics. I enjoy the creativity of treatment planning and engaging the children in therapeutic play-based treatment sessions.
I have my certification in Sensory Integration Praxis Testing (SIPT). I have received additional education/training in handwriting programs, fine motor development, sensory processing, ADHD, executive functioning, and autism spectrum disorders to name just a few.
I desire to help children reach their highest potential and equip the families with the tools they need to have the best life possible no matter what issues they may be facing.
Since graduating from Texas Woman's University, I've had the opportunity to work in several Occupational Therapy settings but always returned to working with children. When I first interviewed at Child's Play, I was immediately impressed. As OTRs, we are taught that Occupational Therapy interventions with children should above all, present therapeutic activities which are novel to the child and that are an invitation to play. My kiddos rush into the clinic asking "what's the theme this week?" and are delighted to see the changes in equipment configuration and the new tasks set up for them.
I love my work! I have the joy of seeing children gain self-confidence as they acquire new skills which help them function more successfully and happily at home and school.

Hi my name is Kim and in all of my 23 years of experience, there has been no setting more life-giving than the one I have found at Child's Play Pediatric Therapy!
I am a graduate of Texas Woman's University 1996 Cum Laude. Through the years I have fallen in love with people of all life stages from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. Within those many experiences, I have had the privilege to interact with so many families within the Hospital, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, School System and Private Pediatric Clinic settings. I have worked in the school system with developmental classrooms, PPCD classrooms, and general education classrooms as a treating and consulting therapist, I am also trained in feeding and sensory treatment strategies. My specialization is also in the area of Reflex Integration and how it impacts ALL areas of function throughout the lifespan, from in utero to adulthood.
I am married to Trey and am a mom of 3, all of whom are either in high school or have graduated!! Woohoo!!
As a fellow mom, I have walked through private education, homeschool education and public school education with my kids. I understand the demands of meeting the needs of your children and managing a household as well as a career. I promise to work WITH you to find the best approach for your child and within your family dynamics and demands.
